How many public holidays are there in Germany?
There are 9 public holidays in Germany that are official days off across the whole country. However, some states or regions have extra official holidays. In total, there are 11 such days. So, depending on the region, there can be between 10 and 14 public holidays in Germany each year.
In Germany, two public holidays always fall on a Sunday: Easter Sunday and Whit Sunday (Pentecost). These two days are only official public holidays in one federal state.
